Our take

An open-source coding agent (Apache-2.0) that runs in your terminal, VS Code and Zed. Commands run inside an OS sandbox (Seatbelt on macOS, bubblewrap on Linux) that can only write to the project, temp folders and package caches. It has no network unless you turn it on, and every edit asks for approval with a diff. Most coding agents rely on the model behaving well; Garuda puts the limits in the operating system instead. The author published corrections on Oct 10 and Oct 11: commands inside the sandbox run without asking, and /undo only restores files that were in its snapshot. It's a solo project announced Oct 8, so try it on a throwaway repo first.
